My ambition was once to be somebody in this world. Now, it is to be me.

Persona or no persona?

I’m going to write about “persona” today. I think that it is the thing that defines us, when we are too shallow to try to understand the person behind the mask. It’s that thing that pulls us toward some people, sometimes engulfing many forms, electrical, chemical, creative ways, attraction to someone’s ideas and so on.

The modern human being is shallow by definition. Whether it is an “artist” using beautiful words to attract people around his work, an actor being an “actor” even when the show ends, or any other person doing things for attention, for that flurr of the moment, when we know that people will listen. It’s our 15 minutes of glory. Or maybe, more.

Maybe if we are able to understand how this works, we would be able to use it in favor of us, maybe in favor of transmitting a message, in either of the forms it may embrace, be it a painting, a song or a story. Is it wrong to do it like so? You might ask, is it genuine.

Well, no, it isn’t. Not to the core. But what matters in the end. What you tried to give to them, and maybe less the way you did it. Because, if you only see the last part, think again. There is always more to it.

Kids are attracted to bright, coloured, touchable things.

Grown-ups are attracted to bright, coloured, touchable things.

Is there any other way for us, people, to know objects in this world, beside this? Well, yes of course there are many ways. But this one is the easiest one we know. And it’s working. Can’t deny that.

Many writers write under a pen name, painters sign their paintings in another name ,  musicians leave their lives trying on so many feelings, so many persona’s in order to give the audience what they expect: feelings on stage. They only keep the promises they make.

What matters is that you still make something that inspires others to feel creative also. I don’t think someone is a “product” of some music industry, you can get transformed along the way, what’s wrong with it? If things wouldn’t change, we’d be forever at a standstill. And our own existence is built on “change”.

Okay, so maybe I did have another reason to write this. I bet you are aware of all the “Lana del Rey” controversy, one example being: Lana Del Rey, an Artificial Creation? you can read more in that article.

What I wanted to say is that her music is still great,  she still has an amazing voice. Some things may change, but there is always something that means “You”, no matter how different you may sound to yesterday.

If…

 by Rudyard Kipling

If you can keep your head when all about you

Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream – and not make dreams your master;
If you can think – and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build ‘em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: “Hold on”;

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings – nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And – which is more – you’ll be a Man my son!

This poem was presented by my English teacher in high-school, and if at that moment I figured that I understand it a bit, now I know that there is always more meaning in it by reading it again.

Nature

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods;

There is a rapture on the lonely shore;

There is society where none intrudes,

By the deep sea, and music in its roar:

I love not man the less, but Nature more…

Scoala noastra

In ce directie ne indreptam?

Avem o directie?

Suntem dispusi sa investim timp, resurse umane si o gandire sanatoasa si deschisa catre extern ca sa ne construim o directie?

Eu una, imi doresc sa vad oameni care au activat in domeniul voluntariatului la conducerea Romaniei.

Once a volunteer, always a volunteer.

Closing chapters

Hi. It’s been a while since I last wrote about something that really touched me. It’s about a piece of writing by Paulo Coelho, or maybe it’s not his at all, and it’s only attributed to him. Either way, it’s about closing the chapters in your life, that were left in the air. That left you at a standstill.

This year…has been so much of a standstill for me. My friends moving on with their lives, not being able to reach them anymore, the death of my grandfather, the fact that I stopped drawing since and perhaps digging my head in faculty chores and job. All of this has left me somewhere lost, somewhat vacant. “I don’t know who I am anymore..” is the feeling conveyed by many of my drawings. I think it mirrors back at me in time.

But..this chapter has to end. Me being sad and weak over things that belong in the past. I have to move on as well, in order to be more at peace.

I thank you Paulo, for putting this post on your blog. And I thank you, Ivana Markovic, for having written this comment on it.

When someone is in your life for a REASON. . . It is usually
to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through
a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid
you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like
a godsend, and they are! They are there for the reason you need them to
be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part, or at an inconvenient
time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to
an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they
act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our
need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you
sent up has been answered. And now it is time to move on.

Then people come into your life for a SEASON. Because your
turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They bring you an experience of
peace, or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is
real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons: things you
must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job
is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned
to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that
love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life, all of you, UNKNOWN PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD. You are ALL part of me as I am part of you. herefore I LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
